Other Kinds of Hyperlinks
There are several different kinds of hyperlinks but they fall into two basic categories.
- Absolute links - specifies the full address of where to find a page (e.g. http://www.mysite.com/fun/index.html). These should be used to link to pages on other sites.
- Relative links - specify the address of a page relative to the page that is addressing it. We’ll go over this format next week, but this addresses say things such as “the file is in the same directory that you are currently in” or “look back one directory to find this file.”
We’ll go over the format of these links next week, but you might want to look at the links in some other sites to see what you can figure out.
